The Mid Mo Smoke Show 4-28-18 Special Guest: Sarah Kwast
This week we hear from the other half of Ring of Fire BBQ. Lyle's daughter Sarah is a student in Springfield studying Agriculture Communication, but sadly she can't talk to cows. She'll tell us about her contributions to the Ring of Fire as well as her experience cooking as a college student.
Recipe: Blackberry Cobbler
You will need:
2 pints of blackberries
1 white cake mix, (one that takes water)
1 can of lemon-lime soda, or Cola
2 eggs
⅓ cup of oil
1 4 quart dutch oven
Aluminum foil
~20-25 pieces of white hot charcoal
Wash blackberries and set aside
In a mixing bowl, prepare cake mix as directed
Use soda instead of water
Mix
Line the dutch oven with aluminum
Place a small amount of batter in the dutch oven
Add 1 pint of blackberries on the batter, pour the rest of the batter over the blackberries
Sprinkle the rest of the blackberries on the batter
Place lid on the dutch oven
On bare ground, place ~13 pieces of hot charcoal
Place the dutch oven on top of the coals and set the rest of the coals around the rim of the lid
Bake ~45 min to an hour
Check cake with toothpick
Remove from heat and serve
