Smoking is becoming increasingly popular, and for a lot of people pellet smokers are an attractive option. Easy to use and maintain, pellet smokers are a great way to get into smoking. This week we'll discuss a couple of popular brands and what you should consider when you buy.
Recipe: Smoked Pork Tenderloin
You will need:
2 (1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb) Pork Tenderloins, Silver skin removed
1/2 cup of Apple Juice
3 tbsp honer, warmed
3 tbsp of your favorite rub
1/4 cups of Brown Sugar
2 tbsp thyme leaves
1/2 tbsp black pepper
For the Marinade:
In a large bowl, add the apple juice, honey, black pepper, rub, thyme leaves, and brown sugar. Wisk to combine.
Add pork loins to the bowl with the marinade.
Turn pork to coat the meat in the marinade and cover bowl with plastic wrap.
You want to marinate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Good to do overnight.
Get your cooker up to 255 degrees.
Pecan or another fruity wood works well with pork.
You can also try a mix of mesquite and apple.
Place your pork loins in the cooker and cook to an internal temp of 145 degrees (about 2 1/2 - 3 hours)
Let it rest for 15 - 30 minutes and then enjoy.
